Backwater Blues

First song I wrote for my band, Zen Poets. A blues-rocker! Full band production.

Backwater Blues

I ain’t gonna be in your backwater
I ain’t hangin’ round at your back door
You treat me like I’m just a crazy stalker
I won’t be begging for more.

Is it too much to ask for your attention?
Are you too busy to take my call?
I get the message you forgot to mention
Let’s just forget it all!

This ain’t a thing that the world should see
I’m outta here before the first daylight
I’ll call you up when I get the time, all right?

I’m tired of always feeling so neglected
I’m tired of feelin’ your foot on my back
I’m standing up so that I’ll be respected
We all need more of that!

This ain’t a thing that the world should see
I’m outta here before the first daylight
I’ll call you up when I get the time, all right?
